Then 15+ years of shipping products, not just sites
I started with WordPress sites for small businesses. For the last 7+ years I've been a full-stack developer on the Xagio team, the SEO & AEO platform behind a WordPress plugin with 10,000+ active installs, where a team of about a dozen people covers everything from DevOps to design. Along the way I also worked on Keyword Supremacy, SerpScout and Viral Supremacy, and built the unglamorous software that keeps real companies running: Balextra inventory and wholesale, the TailoredPitch CRM, the Vabis product catalog.
Now AI agents do the grunt work. I do the senior part.
I don't paste into ChatGPT. I run agent workflows that scaffold, test and refactor overnight, then I review every line the way I'd review a junior's pull request. The repetitive 80% went from days to hours. The 20% that decides whether it actually works (architecture, edge cases, taste) is still me.
So Which is why the prices look wrong
When a landing page takes an afternoon instead of a week, I don't need to charge a week. Flat prices, fixed dates, 30 days of free adjustments. If agencies could work this way, they would. Most of them have a payroll that says no.
