- Outcome
- Reporting time cut ~50% for agencies
What was broken
Agencies tracked rankings in one tool, kept keywords in another and built client reports in a third. The plugin already knew every keyword a site targeted, so the tracker had to live in the cloud, work for sites without the plugin, and turn its data into something a client could open.
The build
Add a domain and keywords, pick search engine and location (Google and USA by default), and rankings are checked every 48 hours. Keywords flow in from Project Planner groups or get added by hand, including external keywords from competitor audits. Graph selected keywords to see how a change moved them over time, compare periods, and share ranking data as a report for client calls. More keywords use more Xags, so cost scales with what you actually track.
- Any domain, any CMS, no plugin required
- Checks every 48 hours, Google by default, location aware
- Keywords from Project Planner or added by hand
- History graphs per keyword and comparisons
- Shareable reports for clients
- Pay in Xags only for what you track
What changed
Agencies report cutting monthly reporting time roughly in half, because the keywords, positions and the report live in the same place. The tracker is one of the modules that made Xagio usable for non-WordPress sites from March 2025.
